Your group can help locate photos by doing some basic research at your local library. Weekly local newspapers almost always contained an account of the casualty. We have had good success finding photos along with these accounts. Many larger county libraries have newspapers of this period stored on Microfilm. They have displays that will allow you to scan the periodical to locate the story and have printers which will provide a hard copy of the story and the photograph.
The Maryland Vietnam Casualty list is available sorted by county. You can search by county or town name to get a list of local residents in your immediate or surrounding area.
Once you have a local list you will then be able to search local records using the casualty date. Keep in mind that often the article will appear in the next regular edition after the casualty date of weekly papers but may appear later depending on when remains were returned to the families for burial.
Once you have located the article ask the Librarian for assistance and they will help you print it to hard copy.
