Documentary Filming at the Chapter Home
Documentary filming at the chapter home

On Monday, 11/10/97 451's Chapter home was the setting for filming of a segment of  a documentary titled "What We Leave Behind" being produced by Blue Collar Film Works, Inc., Chicago, IL. Produced in co-operation with the National Park Service, this film will explore personal stories of love and loss, told through items left at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Jim  McDaniel  USMC,  who served in Vietnam with Kilo 3/9 with Associate member Mary Jane Gerity's

brother, Charles S. Walsh  USMC (KIA 3/15/68), was interviewed by producer Ken Arkow.

Jim, whose was nicknamed Mac in Vietnam by Charles, was wounded  in the same incident that mortally wounded Charles.   His account of the incident, his feelings about the war, and his memories of Chuck, were the subject of the film interview.

Mary Jane was able to locate Mac, after receiving a photo from another Marine who also served in Nam with her brother.
After almost a year of searching, Mary Jane was able to make contact with him.
Mac and his wife Laura Jean traveled from their home in Boston, Mass. to meet  Mary Jane and her husband Jim.  Jim, also an active member of Chapter 451, is the Webmaster of  Chapter 451's Web site.
